This quilt is a testimony to the spirit of the
Black woman for her challenges, creativity,
and her championship. In this work
I used shadow or spirit figures to indicate
some reminders of the Afro-American female
experiences:
The Family
Political courage and involvement
Dance and constant positive movement
Dress, hair and beauty
Entertainment
Slavery
African symbolic icons were used to indicate
our roots.
