The Ohio Village

Interior of Presidents Pavillion, Digital Photo by J Riley, (c)2006 OHS A re-creation of a rural community during the Civil War time period, the Ohio Village features a town square surrounded by fifteen buildings where visitors can hear interpreters describe the operations of the public buildings, and watch "residents" perform daily chores that are typical of nineteenth-century life. After normal operating hours, the village makes available its buildings, gardens, and grounds for private evening use, offering unlimited opportunities for staging exciting special events. From outdoor receptions using a Civil War theme to corporate picnics with an old-fashioned flavor, the village's nineteenth century style setting offers a unique and memorable location for a variety of functions and events.
