Ohio Historical Center: Holiday Facilities Rental
Good food and drink, high spirits, and merriment abound during the holiday season when any social
gathering becomes a celebration. The Ohio Historical Society invites your group to celebrate the
holidays in the dramatic museum setting of the Ohio Historical Center.
This is a unique opportunity to enjoy an elegant dining experience among collections of
Ohio's rich archaeological, natural, and historical past. The Historical Center will be available for parties,
Monday through Sunday, after 5:00 p.m.
Any one of our preferred caterers are happy to
assist with your catering needs to create a special holiday menu. Create an elegant upscale dinner with
holiday music playing in background to an exciting family event for all ages with activities
throughout the museum. Choose from any one or combination of our event locations such as the
dramatic Plaza Terrace or Bird Sanctuary gallery for your dinner, or the Red Carpet space located
directly in the center of the exhibit floor which lends to food stations or dancing. All it takes
is your imagination we can do the rest.
Next door, The Ohio Village recreates a yuletide celebration reminiscent of the 1860's. The
buildings, interpretive shops, and residences are beautifully decorated for the season, in the
style of the Civil War era, while festive holiday sounds fill the air. Locations are available for
private event during the holiday season, or you may decide to add Village spaces to your event in
the Ohio Historical Center. Limited space is available on special event dates where the Ohio
Village is open to the public.
Private Meal at the American House Hotel Complex
The wonderfully festive and cozy atmosphere of our Inn, set in the heart of the Ohio Village, makes
for an ideal setting for your holiday celebration. Costumed wait staff serves specially prepared
menus, with 19th century-style hospitality, to make your holiday celebration distinctive. Private groups of
20 to 100 may make reservations in the American House Hotel's main dining room, Monday through
Thursday for lunches and dinners during the holiday season. Any one of our preferred caterers will provide a special menu to suit your groups needs. You may also choose to
have a special "gossip tour" through the Ohio Village and have the village characters take your
group back into time, through some of the buildings, and tell you all about the happenings of the
town. Additional entertainment may also be added to bring the special 19th century touches to your
event. Ask your event coordinator about special themed dinners and entertainment that are
