Description:
A group of officers of the 166th Infantry Regiment in the Baccarat Sector of France during World War I. The 166th Infantry was part of the 42nd Infantry Division, also known as the "Rainbow Division" because it included one regiment from each state. The 4th Infantry of the Ohio National Guard was chosen to become part of the 42nd and re-designated the 166th Infantry Regiment. Prior to the war, the 4th Ohio was sent to keep the peace at strikes and riots and stop revolutionary insurgents on the U.S.-Mexico border.
