Unit Name: 47th Ohio Volunteer Infantry
Muster In: July - August 1861 Camp Dennison Ohio 
Muster Out: August 11 1865 Little Rock Arkansas
Unit History:
The unit enlisted for 3 years and re-enlisted in February 1864. Many soldiers were recruited from the Cincinnati area. Four companies were soldiers of German descent.
