Saturday, May 12, 2012 Late Spring Wildflower Hike Fort Hill - Hillsboro 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Fort Hill State Memorial is a natural wonderland! It is a National Natural Landmark for its richness in both geological wonders and its highly diverse wildflowers. Ohio Historical Society senior curator of natural history Bob Glotzhober will lead this hike along the scenic Gorge Trail. While we will concentrate on the last spring wildflowers, the group will also talk about the geology of the gorge, its six natural bridges and any other natural history topic that catches our attention on the day. The Gorge Trail is 4.2 miles long and can be wet or rugged at times. Bring appropriate footwear and a sack for lunch or snack along the trail.
