Archives/Library and State Archives
Discover your roots, or just learn more about Ohio’s history at the Archives/Library. The Archives/Library collects, preserves and makes available the public written and graphic records. As the State Archives of Ohio, it is the designated repository for state government records of enduring historic value.

Education Resources

Historical Sites and Museums
With nearly 8,000 members and 58 historic sites, OHS is one of the largest state historical organizations in the country. From the Ice Age to the Space Age, Ohio really has been the heart of it all.

Historic Preservation
The Ohio Historic Preservation Office is the official historic preservation agency of the state of Ohio. OHPO manages numerous preservation initiatives including the Certified Local Governments Program, the Ohio Historic Inventory, the state’s National Register of Historic Places nominations and the Rehabilitation Investment Tax Credit.
