McCOOK HOUSE
REOPENS THIS WEEKEND

Confederate troops never made it to Carrollton during the Civil War but they'll be there this weekend, along with Abraham Lincoln.

Union and Confederate re-enactors will be encamped in Carrollton this Friday, May 20, through Sunday, May 22, in honor of the reopening of the landmark McCook House. The 1830s brick home on Public Square is a memorial to the "Fighting McCooks," a family known far and wide in the 19th century for the unusually large number of members who served in the Civil War.
