From those who make history to those who read about it, the Ohio Historical Society encourages everyone to get involved. Ohio's history is exciting and fun and there are many ways that you can help us bring the past to life.

Join in the Fun
Membership in the Ohio Historical Society is an investment in Ohio's past, present and future. By joining our family, your family will enjoy great moments together at our 58 sites across the state. We have membership categories that fit every lifestyle and budget.

Invest in History
For those with a passion for history, contributions are a way to ensure that the sites, programs and events that you love will be around for your grandchildren and great grandchildren to enjoy. Through our Office Institutional Advancement, you can make a gift to the Annual Fund, start an endowment for a program or site that you cherish, honor or remember a loved one or learn the different ways you can include OHS in your estate planning.

Making an Impact
Raising awareness of history and its importance in everyday life is our mission. We help connect citizens with the people, places, stories and events from the past with the activities and concerns of today. Our public-private partnership with the state of Ohio also keeps citizens closer to government decisions that impact our shared history. Find out how you can contact your legislators and advocate for history by visiting our legislative update Web page.

Bringing History to Life
In order to meet our mission, we host a variety of events and activities in which community members can participate. We are always looking for tour guides, educational aides, costumed interpreters for events like All Hallows Eve and Dickens of A Christmas, library assistants, archaeology and curatorial aides, data entry clerks and museum shop attendants. No matter your interest and availability, the Society has a volunteer opportunity for you.
