Pioneer Life in Ohio

Join 18th-century reenactors as they demonstrate essential skills used by early pioneers in Ohio. Demonstrations, such as spinning, weaving, open fire cooking are some of the home skills demonstrated, along with techniques on how to construct a log cabin will be conducted throughout the day. At the long hunter's camp, visitors will see hide tanning, flint and steel fire starting and learn about flintlock muskets. There will also be 18th-century fishing techniques demonstrated and everyone can play games and learn about native wildlife of early Ohio. Admission: $10/nonmember car, $5/member car. Echoes in Time Theatre Presents "Artemus Ward, Master Showman"

Artemus Ward was the creation of Charles Browne, an editor of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Billed as a master showman, Artemus Ward traveled the United States to amuse and entertain audiences. Ward, His Book" to his cabinet, much to the chagrin and disgust of Secretary of War Stanton. First Siege 1813 and Memorial Day

The British are coming! United States and British soldiers and Woodland Indians re-create historic 1813 battles at Fort Meigs. See re-created battles and demonstrations featuring musket and artillery, camp life and period baking. Returning this year is 1813 Patrol and a ladies tea. All ladies are invited to attend the tea and learn more about 1812-era food and crafts. On Memorial Day, honor the men and women of our armed forces as War of 1812 soldiers and civilians reenact camp life throughout the day.
